Thanks John. Yes that is my husband's ancestor. Her parents used the paternal/maternal naming pattern very accurately but they used Lydia Inglis for the third daughter which should have been Agnes, and Janet Cook for the fourth but I have not found a connection for either family that is not more than 4 generations back. The name Lydia seems to be a real stand out in any of his Scottish families and it was used for generations right up to his aunt in the 1920's.
