Hey,
I know I have a damned cheek, but if anyone has any credits they're not currently using on SP, would you do me a favour? I have 4 credits left, 1 short to view this:
23/12/1780 CARRICK HUGH, father PETER CARRICK, mother ELIZABETH BUCHANAN, FR1196 M Glasgow GLASGOW CITY/LANARK
I'm clutching at straws trying to figure out who my William's (see posts above) parent's are. As he named his first born Hugh (b1840), I'm working on the theory that he was following the traditional naming pattern, and naming his son after his father. What I want to know is, does the document tell me anymore than is listed above, or is that it?
I'm sure I can return the favour one of these days (I have a full Ancestry subscription!)
Regards,
Ann

Hello Ann,
I have 16 expired credits, mainly because I was saving them for the modern day marriage indexes and they haven't happened, but also because I took my eyes off the ball.
It’s too bad we can’t transfer credits between people. You could send me one of yours to make mine ‘live’ and I could send you two of mine to make yours ‘five’.
Good luck,
Alan

Hey Alan,
I hate the credit system. I'd much rather pay an annual/ monthly subscription like on Ancestry so I could look at whatever documnts I like, and it wouldn't matter if I'd got it wrong. And your idea makes more sense than having 'expired' credit sitting there - how the heck can being in credit have a shelf life? I'd like to slap whoever thought that one up
Ah well, thanks for the thought anyway
Regards,
Ann

Hi Carrick,
Nice to see you again - we've been in contact before a while back. Still made no headway with making a connection to your line, but yours is still the most promising family I've come across.
Still
and hoping others can provide the missing links to get me on my way again though
Regards Ann
