Thanks for all that Ann - much appreciated. They are all definitely mine bar two - I know of them but don't know if/where they fit. I've seen a Bateman headstone at Denny, but not all the names you've listed are on it - I wonder if there's another one. Did you get the info from lair records?

Thanks again.

I've actually spent the last two years photographing and transcribing every stone in Denny Cemetery - around 3600 photographs, 230 pages of (full) inscriptions and an index which would frighten the life out of you!

I don't believe for one minute I've got nearly half of the people buried there, but at least I know I've got every stone.

The new Denny High School is to be built at the back of this Cemetery so my guess is that it won't stay so nice once the kids find their way over the walls to 'dog' classes.

If you want any other names, just let me know. Obviously I can't guarantee I'll have a note of them but if I don't, it's easy enough to get details from the Cemetery Records Office.

Anne
Thank you for all that effort!

I've found these gravestone surveys in the Falkirk area a great help - it's good to be able to thank somebody who's been involved.

Aw Shucks . . . . thanks guys!

I'm only another obsessed graveyarder and it's good to be able to put my wee hobby to good use.

Anne.

P.S. I'm working my way round the 'Old Churchyards' too, many of which have already been 'done' in the pre-1855 MI Books but have no photos.

Jean! Stop encouraging her.

She might start on Denny next and if she rushes we'll miss some georgeous photies of the auld stanes.

Anne I still have a lovely mental image of that one with the sailing ship.
I keep wondering who had the idea to carve it and where they found someone with the skill to do it.

We all appreciate your skill. Thank you
