Hmm...
Wild guess time.... could this be the Alexander we are after in 1881? There is a Leith connection, and age seems plausible :
From Family Search site:
Church Rd, St Mary Extra, Hampshire, England
Geo.Powell LAMPORT Head M Male 33 Fareham, Hampshire, England Driller (Iron Ship)
Elizabeth LAMPORT Wife Female 32 Salisbury, Wiltshire, England
Alexander LIVINGSTON Boarder U Male 27 Leith, Scotland Boilermaker (Engineer)
At your Agnes's marriage in 1901, who were the witnesses? Where did the marriage take place?

Sorry I thought I had found something but after a check realised it was wrong and deleted it. Just posted this as you would have received a notification.

Hi Lesley,
That is an interesting find for a possible Alexander LIVINGTSON. Agnes's 1901 marriage took place at Old St Paul's Church, Jeffrey St, Edinburgh and the witnesses look like a John Turner McGregor and a Mary PAGE. From the 1901 census I think Mary Page was Robert Page's sister. I had another look at the first 2 children's birth certs for the boy and girl she had with Robert and she definitely signs herself as M/S LIVINGSTON. WHo were these NAPIERS!!!!????
Regards
Kelly
