Hi Lainey,

I have quite a lot of info on my Downs lot, but (so far) have not found any Hardies.

All the best,

Hi Lainey,

Sorry, not a sausage.

Plenty of other Hardies but nor the ones you're looking for - typical - eh?

Noticed your question regarding MIs for Allan Roberts. I have a copy of a book that has the inscriptions for Muiravonside. Unfortunately there is no Allan ........only a Margaret Roberts listed, or poss a James Robert [no s] Is it poss he could have been buried at Polmont or Grandsable instead??? I dont have the Polmont version of the book and I dont know that any has ever been done for Grandsable.

Thanks for having a look through the MI book for my Allan ROBERTS. The James ROBERT you mention could possibly be his father. I've found his name spelt without an s. Any idea of the dates for the Margaret ROBERTS you mentioned? That was Allan's daughter's name. Allan's in-laws are buried in Polmont and that is where he was married and his children born.. But it is possible that he died and is buried in Airdrie, where his wife is to be found a widow in the 1851 Census.

Best wishes

Hi Andrew
I knew I had seen this name before! Maybe this is something you already have but thought it worth letting you know just incase.
Death cert for Henry Hardie : married 1st to-----------, 2nd to Charlotte Hardie Robertson, died 14/12/1884 8.30pm parkfoot parish of falkirk. age 77 parents henry hardie cabinet maker and margaret miller. cause paralysis 6 mths. signed james [cant make out surname but looks like Sawer??] step son. reg 15/12/1884 at falkirk by thomas gentles.
Could be you need to look for old Falkirk graves.........I know some of my lot from Polmont trace back to Laurieston area. This is under Falkirk Landward
Hope it just may help

Robert Roberts died 02.01.1868
Wife (of Robert) Helen Stevenson died 20.01.1908

Thanks, Anne, for the information. This could possibly be one of my Allan ROBERTS. Will keep the info tucked away safely for future research.

Best wishes

A big Thank you, Lainey.

James ROBERT and Agnes WAUGH are Allan ROBERTS parents and my 3rd Ggrandparents. It's great to have this information.

The others I'll be looking into later, to see if there is a connection.

Again, thank you.

Best wishes

Might I ask for MI look-ups also - please? I have several people in the little bit of Linlithgow Bridge that is in Muiravonside, and in nearby farms - names are Fisher, McCulloch, Whyte or White and Boyd, and then marrying into Stewart and Bowie families.

I have the Linlithgow MIs and have found a few people there (William McCulloch and Ann Simson), but in particular I'm looking for William Fisher and various members of the Whyte family... where would people living just across the Avon from Linlithgow Bridge be buried, I wonder?
