Hello Robert
It is a bit early here in the morning and I have to think about getting ready for work.
I will contact you properly later on probably Saturday and sort some things out you requested.
Thanks very much for offering assistance and welcome to talking scots.
Cheers
Stewie

Hi all
Just a brief update!
I have had some emails from Robert and what a surprise, it seems I am distantly related to RG Lawrie pipemakers. Thanks to some newspaper articles from Robert, I have found the son who Christina (Christiana) married (Robert) and off course her ms. So far only found two daughters for the couple on IGA probably due to 1875 cut off. Not sure if I should wait for Robert's reply or go searching SP (patience is called for here I think :) )

Hey, Hey Stewie,

Isn''t it fantastic when a family link appears out of the blue :D :D
The first requirement of a genealogist must be infinite patience. You wait 5years ....10 years ..... then all of a sudden a relative crops up bearing news of significant family ties. Now all you need to do is learn to play the bagpipes
My major link came through a completely unrelated photographic website and ended up with me being invited to the wedding of a third cousin, twice removed or similar convoluted relationship.

Now you have totally new line of enquiry to follow and a whole new set of downloads from scotlandspeople. Your bank manager will be pleased.

Hi Russell
OH Yes! My research had been in a bit of a lull (stone dead really)for a few years now, as I couldn't find any husbands or wifes for the offshoots :(
I think SP may be dancing a jig soon too :)
As for playing the bagpipes, you wouldn't want me to give the pipes a bad name would you? Although it would be nice now to think that those pipers I see on the Tattoo etc may just be using an instrument made by a distant relative 8)
Now for the wait
