Just keep in mind that the reason you found them in Kilspindie and Madderty is because the death records survive in those parishes for those times (look back at the link I gave you above). So that does not mean that there weren't other Margarets and Mungos dying in the more likely parishes, just that the records don't survive. However, no harm taking a look while you're in Edinburgh, since it won't cost you any more :D Madderty is closer to Crieff and with some luck the record will mention her husband (with a great deal of luck, actually :roll: )

It looks like a Mungo Sinclair from Crieff applied for Poor Relief in 1853. http://books.google.com.au/books?id=16I ... 22&f=false

On the Deaths search page on ScotlandsPeople there’s a red “IMPORTANT — please read before searching” link to a page which explains the availability etc of death records, and what they contain. It’s essential reading for anyone searching for deaths to ensure they are not searching for records that have been lost or destroyed or never existed.
