Hello again.
I wonder what the place looked like in 1827, 1841..........and how a weaver managed to keep those extraordinary numbers of kids. Of course it wasn't extraordinary then!
I follow my family through the generations and from having 17 and 19 kids in the 1800s, it changes to 4 for my grandfather, 1 for my grandmother the other side....and even that is before Marie Stopes! - Alison

Hello there.
Hi Annette, yes I did find this one on the way and was very intrigued by Elisabeth Little. We don't know enough about her to trace her, I think.
Try as I may, I have not yet found a connection between the Littles, bottlemakers in W. Scotland and the Littles who were bottlemakers in Alloa!
Mind you, all of them must have had so many relatives the mind boggles, and I still feel there is a connection somewhere, even if it is way back in Dumfriesshire! - Alison.

I know this was a long time ago but I just thought I would update it.

Elizabeth Little has turned out to be a child of John Little's who was in the 1841 census and who was thought to have died, as she did not appear in the 1851 census....we thought. She was with her aunt Agnes Ritchie in Newmilns, Ayrshire - and she was born in Alloa. Which places John Little in Alloa at the time, and fits in with when the Dumbarton works were closed.
So here is the connection.
She also appears on two certificates later on.
