Curiously my GGG Grandfather Alexander Wishart married an Ann Leslie and subsequently his children all had daughters called Ann, some with Leslie as a middle name, others with Lessells. I always assumed this was some kind of spelling error on the part of the registrar. Now I'm wondering.....

I thought I mught resurrect this old topic, since I'm looking for descendants of the Allan family in question. Please get in touch if the following little tree rings any bells. I am actually descended from Lessel Stephen Allan's sister Isabella (also with middle name Stephen).

Elspet Lessell married Mathew King at Monymusk, Aberdeenshire, 5 Feb 1686.
So the Lessell name has been there for quite a while.
