Found Ann Garner Clelland's death certificate on SP today. She seemed to go by Ann or Agnes. Agnes only on the census in 41 and 51. I have her in 1861 witht eh same kids and address and it is Ann. Her DC has her as the widow of James Clelland, weaver. Daughter of John Gardner and Ann Walker. She died June 20, 1871 in Low Parish Paisley. SO this confirms a lot of my information.

Glad to hear that Ann's hubby James CLELLAND was a weaver.
I'd asked his occupation because there was a 40yr old gas inspector of the same name living alone at the opposite end of town in 1841.
And by 1851 he'd a wife Mary.... so not "your" James A 16yr old niece Mary Paton was with them.

Always good to know one is on the "right" track. It is so easy to make assumptions. I try to get records before jumping to conclusions and connecting the pieces.

Next step is to try and find out more on James Clelland. Have a loads on his wife Ann. A challange! I love them.
