Nope not Burns - they only get the older ones to learn one of his, the wee oes have something a bit easier.

This year the 6 year old has:
Chouckie Hen, Chouckie Hen
Ye're the daftest bird A ken etc
[ said in a Falkirk accent with a speech problem is rather funny!]

Hi Wini,
I'd a look at the original pages, and here's what they said. So still a bit of a mystery at the moment!
Maybe order both films in and have a really good look through to see what was happening (esp Paisley).

Gebbie Family-How can I tell

Jack,

Thanks for that.
That's what I will have to do.
Is it possible they are the same family.

The Paisley lot had a son James born 2 May 1806
Christening 5th June 1806 an LDS entry.

Haven't checked OPR for that, wasn't sure if it was relevant

Hi all
Its such a pity the Paisley OPR doesn't mention Thomas Gebbie's occupation... :?

Best wishes
Lesley

As far as I know Thomas Gebbie and Isabella smith had all four of these children and the Kilmarnock two died in infancy. They also did have James who was my 3XGreat Grandfather. Thomas being my 4X Great Grandfather.

As far as naming subsequent children the same, it happens a few times in my family.

Hope this helps.

Gebbie Family-How can I tell

Post by wini » Tue Feb 28, 2006 2:20 am

Jackie,
Will have to see where our family lines connect.
William Wilson Gebbie was my GG Grandfather. Thomas ggg Grandfather.
My line comes down through Marion Gebbie daughter of William Wilson Gebbie and she married David Munro in 1854.
She died on 16th December 1891.
