Wow, thanks again everyone for the positive response, makes all the effort worthwhile that people are getting something from photographs that would otherwise languish away in the attic!
Great to hear that folk are scribbling on the back of their prints. I wonder how future generations will cope with compact flash cards, CD's and other forms of camera media? (assuming they can still crack them open!) I still think it's worth getting lab prints from digitally shot images.
Rachel - I know that one branch of my family spent some time living in Lenzie, the father being a tax inspector, however everyone else pretty much stayed in Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh. There have always been a fair number of Wisharts in Kirkcaldy, many of which don't seem to be connected to my 'lot'. Good to hear there is at least one brain box amongst my namesakes! The Glasgow link rests in the first part of the nineteenth century, however details are scant and I'm rather hoping the forthcoming census releases will aid the cause.
Very best,
Scott
