Hi Leslie,

It doesnt happen very often - but seems to happen when it means the most to me - but thanks to the kindness of people such as yourself I have been a very lucky person over the years.

I spent 4 yrs looking for my mothers father - she had never met him and being born in 1919 i didnt think there was much chance of him being alive.
But well after a million posts on the net and much frustration due to the lack of information we were allowed to have on this awful man I found the ever elusive Robert McIver Livingstone McKay alive and kicking and living in Dover - hes now 88.

We all met up with him and now my mum and him are good friends, he had been told (by letter whilst in the war) my mum was being taken to canada with a new father. Sad really.

Even my kids think hes a lovely old bloke, hes kind and considerate and what was more lovely was that he had married and had other kids and all of them knew of my mother. Some had even been doing searches in canada to try and find her.

So a big thank you to you leslie and all the very kind people out there. Your gestures go a long way and puts a smile on the faces of many.

I am having a good wee greet.I am so happy he & you lived long enough to know each other& your Mum too.Nice that her other siblings knew of her too.
