Thanks alot for that Andy.
Now i know i have the right family.
Strange that Helen was deceased when Sarah married. Is it common for relatives to delay reporting deaths to registra?
Sarahs sister Bella, married Robert Keltie.I wonder if William and Robert are brothers.
Thanks ever so much for all your help, i feel like i am finally getting somewhere

Graham Family
Hello Carol and Andy,
I've just read Andy's post and what I found makes no sense whatsoever except Sarah must have been lying in her poorhouse application.
Sarah Graham applied 19th September 1861.
Single -Age 17
Address - 32 Little Street
Birthplace - Maybole
Reason - Ill health
Occ. - Piecer
Parents - William Graham and Ellen Boyd, dead.
This girl's mother applied here on 9th January 1854 Record G4221.
She was in the other parish monthly roll at 6/- up till 2 years ago when her daughter, the applicant commenced to work and she was struck off by Maybole.
She has since lived at above.
So according to Sarah her mother was dead by September 1861.
I had a look for Helen's 1854 application but it was not indexed and I didn't have time to try and cross reference the above number. Lots of the early records don't exist now. I will look again.
Sorry it doesn't really tell you much and if Andy has found Helen's death record then it is more confusing than informative.
I had a look for Rachel too but no luck.
Kind regards,
Annette M

1861 death
I've just had a search on SP and coincidentaly there is a Boyd/Graham death in Lanarkshire in 1861. I don't have enough credits to look but the name is not Helen or Ellen.

Hi Anne, the plot thickens
You really didnt need to use up your credits on my behalf, so a big thank you is definately sent
Have just written to my grandfather, hoping he can fill in some gaps for me.
And here was me thinking this was going to be the easy side of the family
Thanks
Carol

Hi all, first things first.
I couldnt find anything more on William Graham without an approximate date or place.
So i decided to look on my Hall side.
We didnt know who my great grandmother was so i decided to have a look.
Andy, the marriage of Sarah Graham to William Kelt/Keltie has turned out to be something of a suprise.
My great grandfather William Graham Hall married a Jeanie Kelt in 1904.
A look at the marriage transcript shows her parents as Sarah Kelt ms Graham and William Kelt.
I cant find Rachels birth on Scotlandspeople or my great great grandfather William Hall.
I did find Albert Graham with his wife Ann and son James in Bothwell in 1861, no Elestra,no Henry and no William J Hall.Very odd.
I know William and Henry were here i have them in the later census reports
Thanks again for everyones help.
