well thanks david. thats just confused me even more

the possibilities are endless!

but i did start out lookin for james bell who was married to janet mccall so i think they are probably married. as for the others on the census i will have to check any other info i have and see if they tie in woth anyone.

Just to confuse or confirm

There is a James McCrone
Birth: 28 DEC 1829
Christening: 08 DEC 1830 Old Cumnock, Ayr, Scotland
Father: ANDREW MCCRONE
Mother: AGNES BELL
Parish registers, 1704-1854 Church of Scotland. Parish Church of Old Cumnock

So possibly a nephew or grandchild if its the same person ?

well yes it gives me something to work from

i think i fpund john mitchells birth on the igi and his parents are listed as james mitchell and margaret bell. it also gives an about birth date for margaret which does tie in with info i already have.

then i looked for james McCrone and his parents are listed as andrew McCrone and agnes bell and it gives an abouth birth date and place for her which also ties in with info i have.

so atl east some progress is being made.

i also got an 1851 census from SP earlier which has some of the same people on it but its a bit of a tangle as well as it is all brothers and sisters and nieces etc in relation to the head but a few other surnames have come up as well, so maybe more leads!
