Jean,

I don't have enough credits left to check if they are in the same household but there is a Thomas and Mary Wallace both about the right age living in Shotts in 1861.
There is also a Thomas Jerdon.
Kind regards,
Annette M

Ok....maybe this was them in 1871 Shotts

Thomas Wallace age 70 b Ireland
Mary wife age 66 b Ireland
Thomas son age 22 b Ireland
John McDonald border age 40 b Ireland

But I'm no seeing the "son" Thomas in 1881 nor a MC for him between 1871 and 1881 to see who his mother was.

And I'm still not seeing them in 1861....nor seeing the DC of Thomas between 1881 and 1886. :(

Best wishes
Jean

Unfortunately the death entry of Mary in 1886 only gives her father's name of John with no mother's name.
There is a also death of a Thomas Jardine in Shotts in 1881 .

Good Grief what an ordeal!!! No wonder I couldn't find them in Shotts....I was cutting them off with the age parameter!!! UGH.....besides the fact that I had already searched for Mary under IRVINE and LOVE and JARDINE and variations

I'm positive it wisnae me giving you any good clues today Jack

Jack,

Mary's death was reported by her son in law and as I said he gave no mother's name so perhaps he got the father's name wrong.

If you look back at Mugoo's original post (and are they in for a shock when they check back )Mary did have son called David. But that's another search!!!!!!

Kind regards,
Annette M
