Hello Liz

I have Swan's too but they owned an Eating House in Glasgow I have been following the direct line and have not gone sideways yet.
I know that James Calderwood Swan went to The USA and he was the last child that Janet Swan m.s Calderwood before she died.

Hi Heather

I just didn't want you to think we were hijacking your original post!! My connection to the Swan name is very tenuous to say the least - I'm just fortunate that various strands of my extended family seem to have kept in touch over a long period of time. I am actually hunting on the LDS site just now trying to find out more about David Swan and his descendants. It is possible that since they were in and around Glasgow, they might well be related to your ones.

Good luck with your searches. I'll post anything I find here (unless we get moved to a Swan post!). Calderwood is a bit unusual, so I'll watch out for it in my searches.
