died ?married ?emigrated ?

Post by emanday » Tue May 30, 2006 1:36 pm

Just a thought for you. My family has had a series of Margarets, but only one was actually known as Margaret. The others were Meg, Maggie, Peggy and even a Rita. One thing I did notice as well with one of my people - Named Anne Jessie Sloan on her birth certificate, her marriage certificate said Jessie, but her death was registered by her father who gave her proper first name but didn't give her middle name. I presume she was known as Jessie to save confusion because her mother was also an Anne.

This one I only managed to find the documents on SP because I already knew this from family.

I am learning all the time and have just learned a valuable lesson from a post I added yesterday.

Hi Maceill
Good news :)
I had a feeling you would find her in 1874... was she the Margaret in Glasgow High Church?
