musks

Hi Archiver
Following on from Sarah's find of the marriage,
I think I found the image on ancestry - this has been misindexed ( Mark Musk has become Frank Mark ! and looks more like Mark Muck!!)

But it gives his age as 32 , birthplace London, Eng.
a Bachelor, Occup. Barber,
Parents Thomas Musk and Sarah Musk.

Rose ( looks like Reu on this image) Hempstead, age 18 , born Toronto,a spinster, no occupation given, parents Frank( ? I think its not clear) Hempstead and Elizabeth Lyall.

Hope this helps
Sally

Hi Sally,
How did you manage to get an image of the marriage record? I could only find the indexed summary-- no "see original image" to click on as there was for the birth records.

Hi Sarah
Sorry I should have said. I searched under Rose Hempstead's name only.Whilst searching for my Pringle cousins in Ontario, I found that some of the marriages are indexed twice -and sometimes completely differently - as in this case.

Hi Sally,
Sorry, I wasn't making myself clear. What I mean is, when I search the Ontario marriages on ancestry, I don't get actual images, only a summary of some of the indexed details. The birth records did come with images, though. So... I'm wondering if somehow our subscriptions are giving us different things?

Sarah - I have the ancestry.ca sub ( well this month I do ) . In terms of Ontario , there are indexes and images for :
Births 1867 - 1907
Deaths 1869 - 1932
Marriages 1857 - 1922

as well as the Canadian 1901 and 1911 census.

Hmmm. And I'm supposed to have the "World Deluxe" subscription, i.e. with everything on the site... and yet I don't get those particular images-- odd! I think I'll send them a wee note...

Just joining in--Musk family

Post by suze304 » Sat Oct 14, 2006 4:59 am

Hi folks:

I have information on Rose Hemstead, her siblings, her parents, her parents siblings, and her grandparents (and some of her grandparents' siblings). I also have information about Mark Musk's mother and grandparents. Let me know what specifics you'd like!

Does anybody have information on Mark Musk's father, Thomas Musk? I apologize if I missed something in earlier posts. Does anybody have pictures of any of these people?

I found out what happened to Gladys Musk:

Gladys Rose Musk, born 7 Dec 1903: Rat Portage, Rainy River District, Ontario, Canada

Died: 8 Sep 1973: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

In about 1949, she changed her name to Carole Muske, so that's the name on her death record.

Thanks!

Susan

Hi Suze!

I am waiting for a reply from someone else I emailed about the Musks - I found him on Rootsweb, but I'm not sure if I will get anything.

All I know is that the name Thomas carried on, as Mark's son Fred called his son Thomas (my father in law)!

We shall keep digging, and I'll see what photos my father in law has. Hopefully there will be some old ones!
