It really would be great of someone like yourself was willing to take part in the organisation.

I know I floated the idea, but I am too far away and wouldn't know where to start :? Apart from booking research time, those from farther afield would need guidance on places to stay, etc... I suppose consideration could be given to a block hotel or B&B booking?

Hi all

If it's a date when I can make it, I'm happy to help with research as well.

Looks like I'll have to raincheck on the big party. My all to brief and probably once in a lifetime Edinburgh visit has already been narrowed up to only two possible days mid September for NRH and I'll already have my number 1 assistant daughter in tow as we have plans to try and work our way through the labrinthe as a tag team. I'll still be on the lookout for badges though :D (great idea Nelmit....don't let them make you think otherwise 8) )

Best wishes
Jean

aw heck - I missed everyone cos my feet were killing me in the heat and none of the pink shoes were comfy enough!!! Still, I wore a bright pink top on each of my 3 visits just in case!! Think the badge idea is best yet - I hope to be able to join in one of these "events" that are being planned. :D

Best wishes

OK, time to get serious.............

Contact me on 106200.1510ATcompuserve.com and we can start talking turkey about a "guided" research day at New Register House for TS members, - numbers strictly limited, - the limit will depend on the mix of experience...............

BTW if there's a group, i.e. not less than 3, not more than 6 TS members there on the same day, I'll come along and assist where I can ..........
Well, I think we can manage more than that. I think many of us would grab the opportunity if we knew that others we'd "spoken" to in the virtual space that is the internet were going to be there at the same time.

For myself, I would travel from Bristol to Glasgow. I'd need to stay somewhere and I think others would probably do the same for the period, so organising accommodation would be favourite.

Each of us has our own skills, so we should be able to help each other out in the actual research, but more knowledgable folk who'd wish to be there would be a real asset.

Depending on the date, accommodation in Glasgow shouldn't be hard to find. I could certainly help with finding reasonably cheap lodgings. (I'd offer my place but I've only got a one bedroom flat - so it might be a bit small!)
During vacation, the Universities in both Edinburgh and Glasgow rent out student flats (all mod cons). This site might give you an idea of what's on offer. (If we repeat this during the summer next year, then rooms would be cheaper and available).

I was wondering about the Uni, Liz.

Bristol Uni does the same thing during the summer break. It would be quite cool - well we are going to be "studying" aren't we?

If there is a pool of interest in setting this up, it might be a good idea to let me know to start with. PM me if you think you will be interested or email me on mgenoveseATblueyonder.co.uk.

Just think how much we could help each other out :D
