Hi Tracey,
Suppose no easy way to be really sure. It might help if your Samuel's occupation was originally a hand loom weaver.
And of course trying to trace DCs of the Andrew & Alexander to see if their parents' names match those of Samuel.
(i'm only presuming that all three are brothers - no guarantee they were, but a fair possibility)
I can't see either of them in Glasgow 1851 or 1861,
but of course they may be under a slightly different name; or just somewhere else....
Jack

ps, there is another Samuel McCrossan in Glasgow 1841 - a 25yr old in Bridgeton (but not with his family).
And there is a 48yr old of the same name in Bridgeton 1851 - with an Ann McCrossan 84 (maybe his mother?)

Hi Jack

Thanks I have now found some more information on the scotish people site and I think that this could well be the Samuel I am looking for as he was a Loom weaver I have also found out that his parents were Esther Mcfadden If I read it right and James McCrossen which would follow suit
as He has name his sons James and Andrew which makes me think that the andrew in the 1841 could well be his brother. again many thanks

You need to have a further read of Samuel's death register entry, - his parents are James McCROSSON and Esther McCROSSON MS CRABB.
