I still haven't heard back from a query I sent December 15th... so don't hold your breath!

Sarah

Thanks Sarah
I guess they must get backed up with work sometimes.

Just a thought here...David Jeffrey is described as a Plumber in the report.
Was the Fire Brigade a voluntary system in those days? I would have thought a City brigade would have been professional firefighters.

Hi Sylvia and Sarah,

NAS would have had two days holiday for Christmas and two days for New Year. They may also have had a lot of staff taking annual leave in the days between Christmas and New Year, and a few more days following New Year to co-incide with school holidays. I am not sure what their normal turnaround time is for enquiries, but these holidays will almost certainly have added a few days to that time. Hopefully they will catch up soon.

All the best,

AndrewP

Checking back in my email, the last time I sent an inquiry for a similar purpose, (asking the cost of copying some records, how many pages there were, etc) it took from August 15th to Sept 11, with no intervening holiday season. So about a month would seem normal. I'm hoping to get an answer this coming week... if so, I will post.
Regards,
Sarah

Hi Sarah
Just to let you know I've heard back fro NAS.
Estimated cost £30
Sorry that's a bit rich for my blood for someone that's not proven related.
Shame :(
If this David Jeffrey does belong to anyone please get in touch as I have BMD records from SP for him going back to about 1800
back to the drawing board, Sylvia

Hi Sylvia,
Thanks for letting me know. I still haven't heard :? Although I did hear back from the National Archives in England about an estimation for army pension records. And I sent that request only about a week ago! What's up with NAS?
Regards,
Sarah
