Hi Baldy
Well done on the upload.
But the stone does not really give away any more than you've already mentioned... not much to work with as it is too recent to dig any deep into without a visit to NRH or Park Circus. (or hey - a tombola ticket!?! There are look-ups available as prizes. Maybe worth a shot!? )

Can't really think of any other way to find out more, other than the very slim chance of a relative of Robert's just happening to be a member of TS. Does he fit into your family tree?

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Lesley.
Many thanks for your reply & suggestions.
I do have many Beattie's in my tree some of which I know nothing about ,other than their names."He may be one of their offsprings" As I had the headstone image sent to me by someone who actually lives in Tinwald & not related. This person knows that I am researching Beattie ,& he was going to Tinwald cemetery,he took the image(s) and sent them to me.

It is unfortunate that there is little on the headstone

Best Wishes & Thanks
Baldy (au)
