OMG how did you get that so quickly? :D
where did you get all that info from?

Aha, so there's a Jane & Janet in the family ... i think your right then Annette. This is why i have been finding Janes & Janets all over the place .. grrrrr
I have Janets birth details then.
Did wonder when i was coming across some of the names having 'Smith' as a middle name.

Wow, now i have some more birthdates, and baptism dates too .. and where they lived !!

Thank you so much Annette :D

I got the children's info by doing a parent search of the IGI
www.familysearch.org

Put the parents' names in the appropriate boxes and nothing else and any children who are registered to that couple should be listed.

I'm sure there are instructions for these searches somewhere on the site - hopefully somebody will be able to direct you to them.

Regards,
Annette

Aww thanks Annette, have just bookmarked that site for future use.

To think i've spent days trying to find these rellies of mine and you sussed it out in such a short time, and unravelled the saga of the Janes & Janets.

Shows you i have a lot to learn yet :D

A Huge Thank You :D

Just looked on Janets birth details and it looks like the place where she was born was' Stirlinghill' .. so hearing you say Stirling Brae is right .. cause a brae is a hill in Scotland as you know :D

Ooh that site sounds great too .. your definately getting a gold star now Annette :D

1881 census discs

Post by nelmit » Sun Aug 12, 2007 2:53 pm

Hi Wendy,

The Scottish 1881 census is available on SP, but if you have lots of Scottish ancestors it may be worth investing around £25 to buy the discs from LDS Distribution Centre. I'm afraid it includes the whole of Britain but I feel I certainly have had my money's worth.

Remember when searching for William's family on SP to enter ADAM* as the surname.

Happy hunting.

Annette

Wendy

I have found it is best not to use the download file on LDS, I either just copy out the details on paper of copy and paste it onto a word file.
I have never been able to get my programme to read the ged file.

As for our lang deid yins lying about their ages   I think some of them told so many porkies that even they didnt remember their own real ages   Trying to look younger older for their spouses
