And at the IGI there is a James MOORE marrying an Elizabeth McLelland in Ayr in November 1867, but the date is a few days off....not unusual for some of mine.

Doing a parent search using Elizabeth McLellan and James Moore or Muir will bring up three children, but not Malcolm as he was born after 1875. They were born in Ayr or Argyll.

HI just an up date not on any other posts, have found james's parents and parents before them so I am now six generations back in my family.so exciting !! :D

need some help again soz, I posted a message on the muir genealogy website a while back and i keep getting messages from a guy who say's he has been studying the muir's for years and although this is not his line he says that there were two james McKinnon muirs b same time different parents though. the line I have been following comes from james's wedding and birth cert,saying his parents were james muir and margaret reid, not john muir and annie wilson,i looked up annie and john and they did indeed have a son called james muir,but I cannot find reference to him being james mckinnon muir help please.
