Hello Jan,
I think the Margaret Wilson, born about 1832 Mauchline, Ayr, was the only child of James Wilson, and Margaret Marr.
This Margaret Marr, died 1855. in Mauchline, Ayr, and by 1864 James Wilson, got married again to a Mary Mitchell, on 15/March/1864. in Mauchline.
James Wilson died 10/Jan/1887. Mauchline, Ayr.
Regards,
Jonn.

Hello Jan,
I couldn’t find a passenger list online for the “Prince Consort” I don’t know a way of filtering out the Prince Consort passengers apart from opening each pdf document and searching for the arrival date in each one. The original lists would have been handwritten and there may be transcription errors or bits missing and some records were flood damaged.
Assisted immigration usually means there would be records much more extensive than a passenger list but it looks like some Queensland records were lost so I don’t know how things stand there. Perhaps “Ask a Librarian” at the State Library of Queensland may be able to help. http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/Services/ask
The LDS have Queensland passenger lists on microfilm. You maybe able to order one in if you can get to one of their Family History Centres. Search for keyword Queensland in their online catalogue. See “Passenger lists of ships arriving in Queensland, 1848-1923” and click on “view film notes”.

Looks like this site has a number of booklets for sale I think they may have them for the other immigrant shipments direct to Queensland as well.
http://www.gould.com.au/They-Came-Direc ... joh009.htm
Page 61 of a pamphlet "A Novel Proposition," Published 1893 has a quote from ANDREW C. RYCE, Fresno Co., Cal.: "As a farmer and as a Republican I would rejoice to see the proposition put in force."
Mr Ryce appears to be endorsing the author’s opinion of the high cost of farm labour and transportation and his plan to alleviate same.

Hope this helps,
