Hi Lesley
Yes you have the right Janet born in Edinburgh to the said parents and the marriage was in Maryland, Old Monkland district to Samuel THOMSON.
To save taking up your time I have all the births [apart from mother's], marriages, deaths & census data for the parents and siblings apart from Jessie's possible 2nd marriage & her death. I have picked up the births for most of the married female PEILL's & their only other brother had just one daughter. I will have to wait for the 1911 to pick up any other children for the married girls.
I do appreciate the help & suggestions you are all giving me.
Regards
Sally

Hi Sally,
I just googled 18 Swinton Rd. Baillieston Scotland. Didn't get an exact match, but 15 Swinton Rd. is St. Bridget's Parish Church. You don't suppose they had a guesthouse of some sort next door at #18?
Just a thought.

Just to let you know I have not been sitting around this morning while others have been working on my behalf.
I phoned Baillieston Library who sent me to the Mitchell Library who sent me to the NAS who suggested North Lanarkshire Council or The British Library.
I have been reading the British Library guide to the electoral registers & it seems I would need a Ward to make enquiries. As it is lunch time I will contact the Lanarkshire Council later to see if someone can tell me if they hold the registers or at least which Ward I would be looking for.
Regards

Well I finally got through to someone at North Lanarkshire Council and a nice lady told me that they only keep the registers for 15yrs but looked up the ward and said the NAS have all of them from 1948 & and also gave me another number to try. This number didn't have them so I went back to the NAS.
I was again told that they didn't have the registers but after a chat this very helpful lady suggested the Valuation Rolls which would at least give me the name of the owner, tennent and occupier of 18 Swinton Road.
She also looked up exactly which reference numbers I would need for 1951/52 and 1959/60 then told me that if I emailed details with the ref numbers it should only be a quick lookup for someone. Now I just have to wait up to 20 days for a reply and keep my fingers crossed that it is a name I know.
Thanks again for your help
