Well
Ann Jane Rose (great great grand mother) arrived yesterday morning all the way from Kent. The 3 week wait was worth it as I got her on the first try. Another one found and confirmed. Been after this one for a while and other info via David gives me another little bit of info on this line.
How long would it have taken to go from Kent to Inverness in 1850??
Sometimes you hit these brick walls
but these are the moments that make it all worth while
, onto the next one now...
Cheers
Stuart

Re: Lost Brothers.....
Hi, it's a long time since you were here, but I wondered whether you'd found any more about James Rose? He's also my great great great grandfather (I think that's it!) and I was up in Inverness last week looking at his grave (and Abigail's and the twins...) I think I've got his father's and mother's grave in Duthil, but not sure and I can't find anything further back at the moment...

Re: Lost Brothers.....
Hi Sally,
I took a year off from doing the tree but hopefully will be getting back into it soon. Where do you fit in to the line??
I tell you what I have so far from Ann Jane Rose up:-
Ann Jane Rose b 03.04.1849 - 05.05.1895 married 1st to William Calder Ross 16.12.1852 - 15.03.1874 the 2nd to Alexander McIver
she had 3 siblings, the twins Mathew 30.10.1857 - 30.04.1859 and Ruth 30.10.1857 - 04.05.1859 and then Mary Jane 09.01.1853 - unknown death date. I do know she married Alexander Grant in Inverness 15.08.1873.
Ann Jane Roses' parents were James Rose born abt 1810 - 07.04.1860 and Abigail Tyrrell born abt 1823 Armagh Ireland - 26.02.1890
James Rose's parents were Donald Rose born abt 1769 Duthill and Ann McBean no dates
Any info I have missed that you have would be great. You never happened to get any photos by any chance of the grave.
Nice to hear from you
Stuart
