Hello Maureen
Thank you for being so open and honest about your feelings. I know that many of my fellow posters do respect your feelings and beliefs. I certainly do. It must have been difficult opening up to a bunch of strangers about such a personal thing.
Chris, in his first post about this put it in such a way that I, certainly took that he was looking for my opinion only based on my views, beliefs and understanding so my answer was based purely on my own opinions to which I, as are you, are absolutely entitled and they must be respected.
Knowing where the boys remains were buried initially places a different slant on your quest.
I think that almost all of us on TS have found tragedies in our family histories and wept for their hardships and pain. I know I have shared the pain of others even though their families had no contact with mine.
You say you have no legal right ! As remaining direct family line your case should be strong. Other educational institutes have returned remains and artifacts to other cultures even without evidence of a direct line relationship so keep trying.
Now that you have made a brave foray into our midst please forgive what may have appeared as slights and rebuffs but were never intended as such and come back to us with your family histories which we all find so engrossing even if they induce differences of opinion over some aspects. Our understanding of past lives is being constantly added to and our respect for our forebears grows larger as we learn.
Again thank you for your openness.
