Hi Sarah
Yes that must be her using the name Malcolm on the census, no RCE on the birth record though.

Thanks for the pointer

How sad :( Does her death cert give a father's name?

On the 1901 Census I see that he and Mary had at least 5 sons with them all at the wrong age for the events that follow in the next decade.
Now, that's an intriguing line! What happened in the "next decades"?

Hi Carol,
I suppose he means WWI-- what a heartbreak it must have been to have sons at that time, I can't even imagine. "Wrong age" indeed...

Regards,
Sarah

Hi Yes this has to be one of the worst things about Family History such a
loss on a large scale.

Yes, of course.

I was thinking more of family disruptions and not looking that far down the road. And so many of those young men joined up as a family group, several brothers all at once.

Hi Smid,

  How unhelpful! Looks like the daughter-in-law completely misunderstood the instructions for filling out the form :(

Sarah
