This 1891 dwelling place I listed previously seems to be a large private home.
The 1881 census has the same family as residents with an assortment of guests and full staff...

Further googling on the name John Addie in Viewpark (which btw is in a portion of Bothwell near to Uddingston) shows Mr. Addie to likely be the same fellow described here: Fatal Colliery Accident – Yesterday morning at Messrs Addie & Son's Viewpark Colliery, Uddingston, one miner was killed and another injured by a fall from the roof. Allan Dunn was the name of the man killed, and George Rae was slightly injured. [Scotsman 9 December 1905]

And after posting all that.......I'm going to change my mind!!!!!
Somehow I missed the 1891 entry that Annette found. The Straiton place of birth beats out the Ayshire place of birth in my book. I now DO NOT THINK that the Mary Stewart in the Viewpark household in Bothwell is your gal. I'm thinking this one is......

Sadly I'm still stuck on a DC for her. If her daughter Margaret truly knew the facts then from her marriage in 1897 we can assume mother Mary was still living and from her death in 1930 we can assume that mother Mary was deceased. Since we're not finding Mary on the 1901 census I'm thinking she is likely dead by then. That would put it logically in Ayrshire somewhere and between 1897 and 1901. Off to have yet another gander in the statutory records.
Now to jump backward and answer a question....how did I find the birth certificate of Margaret Stewart daughter of Hugh Stewart and Mary McCreath? ANSWER: I didn't!!! I found her death certifcate and then I tracked the family through a combination of census, OPR burial, and IGI records.
Best wishes
