The one that Meg found died in 1891 Have you seen that one too, and he is not the right one?

Hi all
I search lachlan Grant You searched for: Surname: "GRANT";Off; Forename: "LACHLAN*"; Sex: "Male"; Year From: 1855; Year To: 2006; County: INVERNESS; District: STRATH; and Found 7 and after a other few goes just look at 1898 and found one but turned out to be the wrong one
I never found any 1891

Just try again just putting in the year 1891 and I could any
but I never found the one in 1896 when i search all 1855 to 2006

grant
lachlan
male
1891-1891
County/City/Minor Records: Inverness
District: Sleat

Birth year 1803 +/- 3 yrs

(Sleat is next door to Strath on Skye)
There is no guarantee he is the correct one, but the area and date looks about right working from what you have said and the age also seems about right.

Lesley, I had a look at the Sleat one and it's NOT him. The Sleat Lachlan was married to a Catherine McInnes and is on most census records in Sleat.

There's another in 1908 which is also wrong - he was married to Margaret McLean; born in 1828; and lived in Strolamus, which annoyingly is right next to where Helen Grant stayed. As the family names for this particular Lachlan are similar to "our" one, there's a good chance he's a nephew but no concrete proof.

Peggy Grant died in 1898 (in Strolamus) and she is shown as widow of Lachlan Grant, so he died pre-July 1898.

Its not you that being silly I just look up SP the same as you put in and never found any thing
its me I never do anything right
I have to do things a dozen times to get what other people get first time
