Hi, been here before looking for the Taylors and I thought I'd post again.
I have relatives that live or lived in Falkirk before and around the time of WWI and WWII. Their surname is/was Taylor, I know they lived on Main street at the turn of the 1900's.
James Rhind Taylor-my great grandfather-died 20-6-1917
Elizabeth Moir (Laird) Taylor- my great grandmother-died 22-3-1927
My grandmother Janet Moir Rhind Taylor-moved to America perhaps in the 1920's-born 1895
My great uncles:
William Rhind Taylor-HMS Kangaroo-born 1891
Robert Muirhead Rhind Taylor-B.E.F-France-WWI-born 1893
Martin Taylor-Black Watch-France-WWI-born 1898
Alexander Taylor-may have served but was born in 1901
There were two more children:
James Taylor born 1888-died 17-5-1917 very young
Mary Taylor born 1882-died 12-2-1920
If anyone recognizes these names please contact me. We haven't heard from our Scottish side of the family in 50 odd years and it would be wonderful to find someone and get to know them.
Thank you,
Stephanie

Hello Stephanie,
There are a couple of events recorded on ScotlandsPeople which may be after the family moved to America. One is a death in 1932, the other a male marriage in 1924. I don't know the details. Just type Taylor in the surname box and Rhind in the forename box. If you don't already have these it might get you closer to where you're heading.
Have you tried submitting your details to the Genes Reunited database? http://www.genesreunited.com/genesreuni ... ?wci=login Your chances there of making contact would be sustantially higher than on this Forum. I've searched this Forum and apart from your own there was no other query regarding the name Rhind in the last three years.
Another you could try is http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi Type Rhind in the given name and Scotland in the birthplace. No Taylors come up but you could check to see if any of your other family names are included in the results. You could submit your family details there also if you wish to.
It's nice to see that H.M.S. Kangaroo seems to have been the one you wanted.
Hope this helps,
Alan

Thank you so much, I will try the websites and your suggestions. I believe I've been to both but lucked out. But with your suggestions, I will go back and see what comes up.
It's been very frustrating and I always seem to forget to add that my grandmother Janet is the only one who came to America. She came over in the 1920's and I believe my mother's middle name comes from her great grandmother Elizabeth who passed only a few months before my mother was born.
Thanks again,
Steph
