Hi chechechihuahua
..and a warm welcome to Talking Scot. :D

Have you already found the marriage and birth entries at Scotlands People? e.g. searching for the marriage of Frederick Lynch and Mary Lynch should give you thier parents' names.

How about the census data also available at Scotlands People? Not sure what you have collected already. The 1891 and 1901 census should let you see your great grandparents family and maybe help you place some of those children.
Once you are a little further back the IGI at www.familysearch.org is likely also be of some help.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello and welcome to Talking Scot.

You seem to have loads of info on your family to get ahead finding your ancestors. Have you tried searching Scotlands People for more details?
Who does it give as Richard's parents on his marriage entry?

If I have the correct family in 1891/1901 it shows that Richard was born in Glasgow around 1869/70. I can find only one on the IGI -

RICHARD FERRIS Pedigree

Birth: 02 APR 1868 Bridgeton, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland

Parents:
Mother: ELLENOR DONEGHEY

Do you still live in Glasgow? If so a visit to Park Circus may be more economical if you want to research your family history. It might also be worth a check of the records at The Mitchell library.

Of course this may not be your Richard at all.
:D

Hope this helps,
Annette

There is a family history section at Park Circus in the west end where you can book in for the day at a cost of £14.

I saw the 1881 census Jean found and thought it might be worth a trip to The Mitchell Library archives to search the poorhouse applications for this Richard Ferris.

Just shout if you need any more info.

Regards,
Annette
