I am looking for any info on a James Mciver who was a shirt manufacturer in 1931 glasgow -in the 1957 phone book James Mciver's shirt mahufacting was still in busines,James Mciver and Co Ltd (1931) Shirt Manufacturer 263 High Street Glasgow
any info on who was running the business at that time would be a great help.

The business was still there in 1967 listed as a factory in the valuation roll.
Unfortunately the building was owned by Glasgow Corporation and is was rented so no owner of the factory was listed. Maybe there are rent books archived??
Why not drop an email to the archives at The Mitchell with what you know and if they offer any advice I'll see what I can do. I had to rush away today - my parking meter time was up and I didn't want towed away!
