I use genopro from www.genopro.com, the one I use is free but they use a short time delay to convince you to buy it. Your tree would look like this with it:

Hi Katrina
You need to carry on working backwards, generation by generation, cross-checking your info as you go and veryfying finds with the original sources - so if you find something on IGI, you'd need to then see a copy of the original document from Scotlands People or on microfilm.
There are no "instant family trees" and there are not always easy answers, nor are there answers to everything, but if you keep working away at it you are more likely to find what you are looking for - persistance usually pays off one way or another! (though sometimes it can take years to find an answer, and some things will forever remain a mystery....
)
Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Katrina
One thing that could be throwing you off a bit is that Newton Ayr (Newton Upon Ayr, or Newton, Ayr as it is also often seen) is in Ayrshire, not Argyle.
(Unless someone knows of one in Argyle?). So you want to search in Ayrshire for your parents of Malcolm McKenzie Muir. At least that is probably where their marriage is.
Best luck. It looks as if you are chugging right along. Don't forget that there are all kinds of hints in investigating siblings and their families. Enjoy all the puzzles in your journey. I think most of us have more fun watching the leaves slowly fill the empty branches than in admiring the big old complete tree.

thanks cathy,you are so right about the newton- ayr thing, On Malcolms birth cert (which is a bit of a mess, it states district of campbeltown,Argyll but the copy is really bad and just readable, in the box where it names his parents it has something written think it is my ggg grandads date of birth and below that it has Campbeltown !! I think written, then a line through it and newton - ayr written). signed by his mum well she made her mark and then mother after that i havent a clue what it says.

Hi Katrina:
If you could post a copy of the document you are looking at, we may be able to help you decipher what the next line is.
This link will explain how to do it, and once the image has been approved by the AG, everyone will be glad to help out.
