High Street, Renfrew.....

Post by nzbris » Thu Jul 07, 2005 11:50 pm

Hi

I am searching for any information on the Scobie family that owned a general drapers store in High Street, Renfrew. I have a copy of an old business card/calling card? which has Robert Scobie & Co, General Drapers, Milliners & Clothiers, 45 High Street, Renfrew.

I also have a copy of the items that were sold in the store. The business card shows a picture of the building that I assume the store was in.

This family emigrated to New Zealand in 1870.

If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. :D

Thanks so much

Hello nzbris

If you click on the Libraries Link located at the top of the page, you will find the Renfrewshire County, Paisley Central Reference Library. Perhaps they may be able to assist you further along? And as an added bonus maybe they have some history of the storefront on their shelves?

Good Morning nzbris

Meantime you might like to have a look at some old photos of Renfrew, the High Street included.
