Ann Geddes b 1844 Gamrie Banff - Children.....

Me again !!

My Gt Gt Grandmother Ann Geddes had 4 children that we know of. She never married.
1. Mary Ann Geddes b born 5th March 1868 at Newton of Melrose Gamrie Banff. Father unknown
2. Alexina Grant Gray Geddes born 12th June 1874 at Strichen House, Kennels, Strichen. Paternity case names father as Peter Gray of Methlic.
3. Bessie Sangster Gordon Crawford Geddes born 29th May 1879 at Polmaise Home Farm St-Ninians Stirling
4. Lily Townlie Gray Geddes born 7th August 1883 at 22 Summer Street Woodside Aberdeen. my Gt Grandmother - father William Gray of Brownside Strichen.

Two of them we know nothing about
Mary Ann is last found on the 1881 census with her grandmother at Blackcairn Gamrie Banff
Bessie is last found on the 1901 census in Edinburgh. I have done a post on her so wont go in !!

Yes thats her. She went on to marry William Mackie. She seems to have been bought up by her Aunt Mary Barclay (Geddes).
But its Mary Ann and Bessie that have us stumped !

Hello Tracey,

Have you checked the two Mary Ann Geddes marriages between 1885 and 1900 in Banff to see if either of them are yours?

Hi Annette

Between us family we checked everyone closest to who we thought could have been. The closest i have got to her after 1881 is on the 1901 British census but the age is 10 years out and it states birth place Bariff (typo) not Banff
So unless i find a descendant of hers if she married or had children i dont think i will get my answers and im loath to pay out for any more certificates !.
