Ann was the illegitimate daughter of Alexander Hunter and Jean Leslie, born after his marriage to Margaret Hendry.
In 1841 census she was @ Kildrummy and in 1852 she married George Baird (0000-0000), the marriage listing says he was from Old Machar.
Their daughter Helen was born 1854ish - age varies on subsequent census - and she in turn lived @ Kildrummy, having two illegitimate daughters before her marriage in 1882 to Robert Fraser (1849-0000).
Their subsequent children, all born @ Rhynie were :
Helen (1883) + James (1884-1888) + Robert (1886-1888) + Jane (1890).
I have traced Helen from birth till her death in 1935 through the census.
However, I would love to know what happened to her parents Ann and George
Can find no trace of either in 1851 census for Kildrummy or Old Machar
Any ideas ?
Ann Baird (nee Hunter) born 1823 @ Kildrummy.....

Given the frequency of occurrence of the surname BAIRD, never mind Ann, not necessarily practical to look for a death register entry on scotlandspeople.gov.uk ........ and George doesn't help either.......
It's also a complicating factor that Ann could have been known by several surnames, - a cross-check search for BAIRD plus the possible other surnames for Ann* doesn't produce any results.
You may need to be patient until the 1851 census comes on line at scotlandspeople.gov.uk, - date?, - ask me after the next ScotlandsPeople User Group meeting in early August, - to see if either or both survived to 1851 ..........

Hi,
You are right - manually checked the 1851 census for Kildrummy and Old Machar when in Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago, with no result - will have to wait till this census is completely computerised.
Thank you
