William A. McKirdy & Rachel Jamieson.....

Post by Jack » Mon Jul 25, 2005 1:57 pm

Andy wrote:Hi Jack, I don't have a great deal on this William McKirdy. I do know that he and Rachael had at least 3 children, Mary Jamieson, William Alexander and John.

Rachel died in 1880 (parents George a harness weaver and Ann Hume)

William Alexander remarried VERY quickly, probably because he was a ships steward and had to get someone quickly to look after the children.

His parents were Alexander McCurdy a Chief officer in the merchant service and Margaret Head.

I have come across this couple before but will need to check my info. William was a popular name for the Houston & Killellan McCurdys some of whom did move to Paisley.

I'll let you know what I find.
Hi Andy, that's the family. I've done next to nothing on my Paisley lines - just can't seem to find the time!
Rachel (my 1C3R) was one of 8 known children, and i haven't yet had a good search to see what happened to them all.

I hadn't even looked for Rachel's death, and i didn't know about a son John either (thanks for info). This is about all i have.
[later - i've found some more children]
