Looking for the birth and marriage dates...also children of :
ALexander McLAUCHLAN and Elspeth McINTOSH of possibly Moulin, Perthshire.
Apparently Elspeth was still alive in 1851, living in Moulin Parish and recorded as Elizabeth, of which Elspeth is a Perthshire variant.
All I have to go on at this stage is:
Robert McLauchlan one of their sons married Ann MENZIES in 1820 in Logierait when he lived at Strathgarry in Moulin where he was born. He possibly had a brother William born 1801.
Robert & Ann had the following children:
Elizabeth born Dull
James born Dull married Margaret SANGSTER
Hendry born Dull married Jessie FRASER in 1861
Fergus born Dull
----
Besides eight sons, Robert and Ann had at least one daughter, Elizabeth born 1824
Any help much appreciated. Would also be wonderful to find someone connected to this family.

Hi DiDi,
Try a parent search on the online IGI, and you will get 6 children to Alexander and Elspeth (plus a repeat of one of them as an LDS submission). The 6 from the records (OPR pages) should be available to download from ScotlandsPeople.
Go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... _form=true
Input the parents names in the boxes in the top-right; and the region name British Isles, then Search. That should produce the list of their children for you.
All the best,
AndrewP

Many thanks for your help AndrewP. Much appreciated.
WilmaM..No I didn't but the sennachie of the McLauchlan Clan wrote & said he had....at the same time telling me some details of Robert McLauchlan.
I believe Robert is my John Anglands brother born 1801 Dunkeld Perthshire
and is the only link I have found after searching for several years.
Thanks for your interest Wilma.

Hello again Andrew,
looked up on family search...found Donald, Jean, James, Christian, Anne & Alexander chr: 20 Sep 1801. No John or Elizabeth....so next put in John's name up it came to same parents in 1801.
Haven't ever used Scotland people except Paul did when I was at Archives in Edinburgh last year but unfortunately they were on strike that day & he couldn't access his usual data...was staying in Perth & had to head off to Highlands next day.
I went to Dunkeld & it is just over the bridge to Moulin so feel these must be my g.g.grandfathers family. Need more details to be sure tho'.
John McLauchlan married Marjerie MILNE in Coupar Angus 24 Dec. 1824...she was from Cargill. He was a farm. lab., ploughman & house servant. Believe they both may have been in Cargill 1841 as Marjery died some time after the census.

Hi DiDi
Can I ask what you mean by "just over the bridge" the Moulin I know about is just outside Pitlochry a fair bit north of Dunkeld. Little Dunkeld and Birnam would be just over the bridge from Dunkeld???
Regards

Hi Smid,
A friend said the same thing as yourself via email so I must have my wired crossed to where Moulin is situated.
When I was in Dunkeld village last year a friend pointed to the bridge North of the village saying Moulin an easy walk from Dunkeld. Have to get my map out again.
Much appreciated as I thought of staying in Moulin next year to be near Dunbeath where there were heaps of tourists.

McLauchlan in Perthshire..
Have just found my McLAUCLAN ancestors in a direct line from:
John McLauchlan born
Brookside Canterbury NZ marr: Agnes SHEARER
Son of William McLauchlan born 1836 Perth Perthshire marr: Christina Sutherland b: 1838 Dunbeath Caithness in ChCh NZ
Son of John McLauchlan born 1801 Dunkeld Perthshire marr: Marjery Milne
b: c1806 Cargill Perthshire in Coupar Angus.
This is where my queries commence--have I gone off track here plse? Why I ask is the christian name Robert doesn't appear to be handed down through the descendants, even tho' they had large families.
Son of Robert McLauchlan b: c1790 Moulin Perthshire, hand loom weaver, and Ann Menzies
son of Alexander McLauchlan, farmer and Margaret McIntosh.

Hi Didi
Robert b. c1790 would appear to be too young to be the father of John b. 1801
Best wishes
Lesley
