McLauchlan, John b: 1801

Post by dimac » Fri Jun 26, 2009 1:53 am

Hi Lesley,

Yes..John McLauchlan b: 1801 Dunkeld Perthshire did die after 1855 but that was the year he sailed to New Zealand with three of his family in the "Cornubia".
Why I enquired re Robert above was because the sennachie of the MacLachlan Clan thought he may have been John McLs' brother.

And where was John Mcl's wife Marjery Milne buried sometime between 1841 and 1851 census. Thought it would have been Cargill Cem. in Perthshire but no trace as I believe they were living there in 1841 (spelling McLamblan).
Marriage banns had John McLs name spelt MacLauchlan in Coupar Angus where I believe he was working around 1824 & Marjery Milne from Cargill.

Thanks for your help,
Di

Hello Di,

I noticed this post sitting all alone and unanswered like an orphan in the wilderness. I suspect that it fell off this thread. http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13524

All the best,
Alan
