I checked the BMDs on ScotlandsPeople, but not the OPRs or census, without any luck.

Had a second thought, and realised Québec has its own telephone system, so I checked and again there were listings for Graux, but no Grauxe.
I even checked a directory of historical French Canadian names and found Graux only.

Hello all,
The names Graux and Greaux crop up on FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl about 15 times ranging from 1840s to 1920s mainly in the London area.
I don’t know what name they’re hiding under in the census.
