Hello and welcome to TalkingScot Janice,
Charles and Mary were married at Londonderry in 1865 and a couple of their children show on the IGI.

There is a Mary Jane Quigg/Hutchison who died in 1915 at Lanarkshire (would be surprised if it wasn't yours). You can view her death entry at Scotlands People. Hopefully this will give her parents names and should show if Charles was still alive or not.
Was Thomas a policeman?
Regards,
Annette

Hi Annette
Got Mary Jane’s death certificate. I did know Charles had died before 1900 as he was dead when Thomas got married to Christina McDonald. Mary Jane's mothers m.s. was Hutchison. There must have been at least another son , as it was Charles Hutchison her son who was informant. So I have to find there births yet and the fathers death.

You may be lucky and find Charles's death at the LDS pilot site but it's down for maintenance at the moment.Janice McKinna wrote:Hi Annette

I'm assuming for the moment that he died at Ireland as I can't find any trace of him or Mary Jane at Scotland in 1901. I think I found William - was he a poiceman too?
What was young Charles's address when he registered his mother's death?

Annette
