I'm useless at deciphering placenames and then finding them on the map!
Can someone please help?
I've got an OPR baptism extract for William Pirie in 1751 that says the witnesses were William and Jas Fordyce both in Littlwrangham. The clerk had problems crossing his 'T's' so I'm pretty sure that's what it says but I suppose it could be Lillewrangham.
The baptism was in Culsalmond, Aberdeen and William's father is from Boghead. No mother's name is given so it would be good to find where these Fordyces are from in case they are relatives.
Thanks,
Jill.

If you put Kirkton of Culsalmond into www.multimap.com just to the south west there is a place called Wrangham.
A look at http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ at the same place produces an Old Wrangham and a little further south a Little Wrangham !
Just had another look - the farm in between is called BOGHEAD

Thanks Wilma,
Brill! Amazing how you did in 5 minutes what I failed to do in 2 days!! I'll keep taking the pills...
Will look for the Fordyces now.
The old-maps website is great.
Thanks again,
Jill.
