Dawson family, Stirling

I am trying to trace descendants of John Dawson & Catherine McGibbon
who married in Stirling in 1865.
John (Ship's cook) died in 1880, missing overboard the "Lough Garry" Ship.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Irene,

These are the children of your John Dawson and Catherine McGibbon from this website http://www.familysearch.org/ENG/search/ ... search.asp

Father: John Dawson, Mother: Catherine Mcgibbon

1. HELEN CHRISTIE DAWSON - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 11 MAY 1869 Stirling, Stirling, Scotland
2. ROBERT SMITH DAWSON - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 23 MAR 1873 Stirling, Stirling, Scotland
3. JOHN DAWSON - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 04 AUG 1871 Stirling, Stirling, Scotland
4. AGNES HEGGIE DAWSON - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 01 OCT 1867 Stirling, Stirling, Scotland

You'd probably be best to try and trace them through the census, which should show all the children born to them.

Best wishes

Fiona

By the 1881 census, the mother and three youngest children were in Glasgow.

All the best,

Thanks Andrew, I was looking for a Catherine Dawson
but I see she was using her maiden name, McGibbon,
on the census.
