Elizabeth - Isabell

Odd question I know...but has anyone ever seen these two names interchanged by chance?

I have a very elusive Elizabeth Campbell (I have had her on here numerous times) from Uphall, Linlithgow born in 1791. I have found a Campbell family from Linlithgow and they have an Isabell born in 1791, parents are Alexander and Marion Hutton Campbell. Out of the 7 children's names from that family....4 are used with Thomas and Elizabeth Campbell Galloway's children. Alexander has a brother, James, and that is also used by Thomas and Elizabeth.

I know I am grasping at straws here...but you never know

I have someone who is Elizabeth on her gravestone , but Isabella on her marriage certificate , and all her childrens certificates ! I am not sure where the Elizabeth came from but it is definately the same person !

I never figured I would have my question answered! So it is a possability?

I have now found a witness name on Elizabeth Campbell and Thomas Galloway's last son of Blair Campbell.

It's an unusal name...found one and his parents are a James and Cathrine Craig Campbell. So was this Blair a "cousin"? Didn't find any parents names for James but for Cathrine their is a set of John Craig and Jean Blair. One of James and Cathrine's sons is named "John Craig Campbell"...they also have a daughter named Jean. Maybe they named their last child Blair for her moyther's last name. But not knowing James parents names....grrrrrr

Isabel and Elizabeth are definitely interchangeable...I have more than a few.
