BOYDS/MORTON OF LOUDON

Post by ulsterscot49 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 5:33 am

Looking for anyone claiming the MORTON family of LOUDOUN. Hugh MORTON married Elizabeth MILLER they had 9 children, all born at Loudoun ( or Loudoun Hill). Matthew 1790, Janet 1788, Ann 1787, Thomas 1785, Elizabeth 1797, Agnes 1783, James 1795, Hugh 1793, Helen 1791. I am claiming Helen b1791 as being married to David BOYD of Monkton, their children all born in Monkton being David 1813, Elizabeth 1815, Jean 1817 and Hugh 1819. I can only find one marriage for a David BOYD and Helen MORTON in Scotland at Avondale Lanark March 1812. \:D/

Hello ulsterscot49 and a warm [TS_welcome]

As far as I know, I don't have these Mortons in my ancestry, but someone might be along soon who does. Have you tried following the other branches forward from Hugh and Elizabeth (i.e Helen's siblings)?

All the best,
Sarah
