Sarah (Sadie) Graham or Lambie
I am trying to find anyone who knows anyone who was a friend of or nursed with my mother Sarah Graham ms Lambie in Glasgow Ruchill Hospital around 1946/47. My mother would have been 26/27 at that time. She had a baby in September 1947 who was adopted and I am trying to discover who the father of the baby is. No member of her family knew she was pregnant or had a baby. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Hi Heather
Your area of research is a little too recent for Talking Scot. However, we have some information and links for those with adoption searches here:

You might also try a post on the Hidden Glasgow forum.

If you have not already seen the birth entry of the child, that should be your starting point, although I do know that very often in cases where a baby was subsequently adopted, you may find that the father's name is not mentioned. If your mother is still alive, she my be able to help too. The following forum may be of help with support during your search.

Searches of this nature can take a very long time to yield results and can be extremely emotionally draining.
Best wishes
