They moved to Scotland and were Coal Miners and Catholic. Daniel married Mary Fitzpatrick 01 May 1888, Roman Catholic Chapel, Cadzow, Parish of Hamilton, Scotland. Daniel left Mary and the children in Scotland in 1904 and moved to USA. Eight yers later after saving the money Mary and the children moved to USA looking for him. They found him working the mines in Pennsylvania but the family didnt live with him. He died 1919 in flu epic.

Daniel and Mary's son, Michael, went back to Scotland in 1920 and married Bridget Marie Conlin on 24 Aug 1920 in the Quarter. She was born 18 Jan 1892, Quarter, to Thomas Conlin (1857-1916) and Bridget Mulrooney (1855-1915). They moved to USA at the end of 1920.

Hi Clarise and [TS_welcome]
I looked around a bit for Bridget Conlin with parents Thomas and Bridget and couldn't find any in Scotland. There is a possible family in England, in Lancashire, but the children were all born in Lancashire. Where did you get Bridget's birth information? Was her father Thomas also a coal miner?

All the best,
Sarah

Thank you so much for helping! Yes Thomas was also a coal miner and I have her birth certificate but cant seem to find them on censuses or anything about her siblings.

I think this is them in 1881 at Paisley, Renfrewshire-

Thomas Conlin 24 Pit Fireman, born Coatbridge
Bridget Conlin 26 born Barrhead.

Which leads me to this family in 1901 at Hamilton :D (as transcribed at Ancestry although I think it is the same at SP)-

Thomas Connelly 44 born Coatbridge
Mrs. Bridget Connelly 45 born Barrhead.
Michael Connelly 19 born Barrhead
Mary Connelly 16 born Paisley
Thomas Connelly 12 born Paisley
John Connelly 11 born Paisley
Bridget Connelly 9
Catherine Connelly 7
Annie Connelly 5
Annie Connelly 46 Aunt born Coatbridge

and this one in 1891 at Hamilton  -

Thomas Antin 34 born Coatbridge
Bridget Antin 35 born Barrhead
Michael Antin 9
Mary Antin 6
Patrick Antin 4
Thomas Antin 3
Johna Antin 1

Regards,
Annette

It was Bridget's birthplace that solved it Sarah!!! :D

Once you know where Bridget was born she's easy enough to find in 1861. Thomas is transcribed as Connellin at Ancestry in 1861.

Annette
